It also repairs stripped threads & creates new threads for fastening applications, providing a strong fastener connection, preventing wear, corrosion or over-torque. This kit is suitable for creating strong internal threadings on all materials, including metals, polymers and composites.
Working Mechanism:
- Select a drill from Helicoil thread repair kit according to the length of Helicoil insert, screw / bolt & required application to drill out the damaged threading up to the required depth.
- Then, use an appropriately sized Heli-Coil tap to re-thread the drilled-out hole in the material.
- Select a Helicoil thread insert from Helicoil thread repair kit and use the supplied installation tool to wind the insert into the hole.
- Use a tang break-off rod or punch to remove the tang and allow free passage of bolts. Large-sized holes or spark plug inserts require long nose pliers to bend the tang in & out alternately until the tang breaks free.
