Gates PC707 shroud is used for shrimp processing and ensuring efficient & effective containment during the process. This shroud maintains a controlled environment, preventing contamination and improving overall quality.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. How do I set up Gates P707 shrimp?
A.
- Remove the following items from the shipping carton: crimper, back-up ring, notched die cone (sold separately), die magnet, hose assembly, mounting bracket with bolt, jar of Molykote 'G' grease, operating manual, crimp data book and crimp decals.
- Mount the crimper on a stable and sturdy workbench, ensuring it overhangs the bench.
- Connect the hose assembly between the crimper and the pump.
- Replace the plug on the pump reservoir with the provided breather cap, ensuring the hydraulic oil level is within 1/2 inches of the bottom of the plug opening.
- Connect the pump's power cord to a 15 ampere (minimum) electrical circuit and switch on the pump's electrical box to the 'ON' position.
- Set the knob on top of the crimper's switch box to a reading of 2.
- Cycle the crimper at least five times to remove air from the cylinder and hydraulic system.
Q. How to calibrate the shrimp?
A.
- Before calibration, cycle the crimper five times without a die set at a setting of 2.
- Install the '733' die set and set the digital readout to 5.20.
- Insert the coupling into the die set and slide the die cone assembly under the ram.
- Press and hold the crimp button until the pump stops, then release it.
- Measure the crimp diameter.
- Adjust the actuator rod to increase or decrease the crimp diameter as needed.
- One full turn of the actuator rod changes the crimp diameter by approximately 0.024 inches.
- Tighten the lock nut after adjusting the actuator rod.
