Product Details:

Eaton EGB7100FFG molded case circuit breaker ideal for protecting electrical circuits from short circuits & overloads. It is designed to interrupt the flow of electricity when it detects excessive current, preventing damage to equipment and reducing the risk of electrical fires. This Eaton Series G MCCB unit is used in distribution panels, switchgear and control panels.

Working Mechanism:

  • It functions by interrupting the flow of electrical current when an overload or short circuit occurs.
  • When excessive current flows through the breaker, an internal electromagnetic coil generates a magnetic field, attracting the movable contact arm.
  • This movement of the contact arm physically disconnects the circuit, effectively cutting off the current flow and preventing damage to the electrical system.
  • The breaker can be manually reset after a trip to restore power once the fault is resolved, ensuring the safety and reliability of the electrical installation.

Features:

  • This Eaton circuit breaker features fixed thermal and magnetic trip mechanisms, providing precise and dependable overcurrent protection.
  • It comes with a four-pole design, ensuring comprehensive circuit control and protection in complex electrical systems.
  • This circuit breaker has a high interrupting capacity of 25kAIC at 240VAC and 18kAIC at 480VAC.
  • It has both line and load connections for flexibility in installation & circuit configuration.
  • This circuit breaker features a 100% protected neutral pole to ensure balanced and secure electrical distribution, reducing the risk of uncontrolled voltage fluctuations and potential damage.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. How do you test a fuse without a fuse tester?

A. To test a fuse, use wire strippers to remove approximately an inch of insulation from both ends of the wire. Attach one wire end to a fuse terminal and the other wire end to the opposite terminal on the fuse. If the fuse is operational, the light bulb will illuminate. Conversely, if the fuse is defective, the light bulb will not light up.
