Product Details:

Destaco 207-LB vertical hold down clamp is ideal for keeping workpieces stationary in woodworking and manufacturing facilities. This vertical hold down clamp is designed to offer a stationary alternative to removable C clamps or spring clamps when securing materials to a work surface. It mounts to the work surface and holds workpieces in place using a lever handle that is pushed to the upright position when the clamp is engaged. The lever handle engages & releases the clamping head, which holds a workpiece onto a worktable. Destaco 207-LB vertical hold down clamp orients the handle vertically for a 90 degree opening angle. This vertical hold down toggle clamp comprises accurately machined components having hardened and ground pivot pins & bushings for long service life. Destaco 207-LB vertical hold down clamp enables the user to undertake an action without being worried by the frequent movement of a piece of wood. The unique pivot and unique lever system ensures maximum function and excellent performance. The high exerting force and flexible adjustability are useful when working with materials of varying thicknesses. This vertical hold down clamp features a fixed design to secure & loosen workpieces without moving the clamp itself. This Destaco toggle clamp is equipped with a high strength, forged alloy steel clamping arm for increased strength and handling a maximum load of 500 lb.
We also offer 207-LBR vertical hold down clamps having Toggle Lock Plus safety feature to ensure that the over centre locking condition is maintained and the clamp remains protected against unintentional opening.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What is a vertical hold down clamp?

A. Destaco vertical hold down clamps are specially designed for holding the workpiece stationary against a flat surface / workbench for various industrial applications like woodworking & metalworking.

Q. What is the difference between a vertical & horizontal toggle clamp?

A. The difference lies in the positioning of the clamp handle when the clamp is in the locked position. A vertical clamp handle is positioned vertically (perpendicular to the base) when in locked position, while in the case of a horizontal toggle clamp, it is positioned horizontally (parallel to the base).

Q. How do vertical hold down clamps work?

A. Clamps like Destaco 207-LB feature a solid style clamping bar that is manually operated using a handle / lever. This handle movement pushes the clamping bar against the workpiece and prevents it from moving mid operation, thereby ensuring secure clamping.

Q. What does holding capacity mean in terms of clamps?

A. The holding force or the holding capacity signifies the clamp's capability to hold down equipment or sheet metal on the assembly line or during similar manufacturing processes.

Q. Which grease is ideal for Destaco clamps for their rebuilding?

A. A coupling grease like Mobil XTC should be used when dealing with Destaco mechanical clamps, while the Magnalube G grease is great for use with pneumatic cylinder seals.

Q. What is the significance of the red colour of the handle of Destaco clamps?

A. There is no such significance of the colour of the clamp's handle, as it only represents a recognisable area. This helps operators in finding the handle quickly & easily.

Q. Does Destaco supply water resistant clamp sensors?

A. Yes, Destaco also supplies inductive sensors designed in accordance with IP65 standards to ensure protection from powerful hydraulic jets, dust & heavy rain.

Q. How do you adjust a toggle clamp?

A. After clamping, the force can be adjusted by loosening / tightening the spindle nut (supplied with the unit for protection from damage caused by abrasion, twisting or flexing).

Q. How much pressure is a toggle clamp capable of?

A. Destaco hold down toggle clamps apply downward clamping force by increasing the applied load via toggle mechanisms. You can see the clamping force on the packaging itself, which is specifically measured in Newton. Use the information with the size of the toggle clamp to work out the degree of pressure that the tool will have to exert on a piece of wood. The larger the wood, the greater the pressure required. So, we would suggest, whether a clamp is not strong or large to apply enough pressure, it is a must to use a variety of tools. This gives a boost to the pressure.

Q. How do hold down action clamps work?

A. Destaco hold-down action clamps apply force in downward direction. It is perpendicular to the tools that are mounting the surface. They come in vertical and horizontal styles.
