Features

  • They feature ball-type valves with Santoprene (R) / PTFE / Buna-N ball materials that offer an excellent suction lift to discharge highly viscous and solid-laden fluids.
  • They come with two flexible diaphragms (Santoprene (R) / PTFE / Buna-N) that reciprocate back & forth to create a temporary chamber which allows both drawing in and expelling fluid through the pump.
  • These air-operated pumps feature an Elima-Matic air valve system for no stalling and lube-free operation.
  • They are self-priming, do not overheat during continuous operation and deliver a variable flow rate to match the required operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a deadhead?

Deadhead is a condition that occurs when a diaphragm pump operates with no flow due to a closed or blocked discharge valve. To prevent internal parts from damage, the pump recirculates the same water, causing the temperature to rise and shut off.

What are diaphragm wear pads?

These flexible pads are installed between the diaphragm and outer diaphragm plate, providing a secondary wear surface that extends the service of a diaphragm. They also provide corrosion resistance when moving abrasive fluids.

How can pulsation be reduced?

There is usually some pulsation of discharge flow in air-operated diaphragm pumps which can cause excess movement. This can be reduced by using pulsation dampeners that have a membrane with a cushion of compressible gas / air behind it that flexes to absorb the pulse, allowing a laminar flow downstream of the dampener.
