Working Mechanism

  • Electrical power from the main supply enters Eaton motor control center through incoming feeders. This power typically includes three phases (L1, L2, L3), a neutral and sometimes a ground.
  • Inside the MCC, the incoming power is distributed to various motor starters and components. This MCC is designed to handle multiple motor loads simultaneously.
  • Each motor starter consists of a contactor and an overload relay. When a command is given to start a motor, the contactor closes, allowing power to flow to the motor. The overload relay monitors the motor's current to protect it from overheating.

Features

  • These motor control centres have voltage ratings up to 600VAC and operating temperatures ranging from 0 to 40 degrees C.
  • They are equipped with a moulded case and air circuit breaker mains for added safety.
  • These motor control centres come with metallic and solid-state overload relays to prevent short circuits & overloading.
  • They have modular pull-apart terminal blocks that are accessible through the vertical wire way.
  • These control centres offer a slider handle mechanism for increased operational comfort.

Standards and Approvals

  • UL 845

Frequently Asked Questions

Can these Eaton motor control centers be operated manually?

Yes, they incorporate a control logic system that can be automatically or manually operated.

What does the motor controller center consist of?

Motor control center (MCC) serves as a centralised assembly for the management of electric motors. It comprises several enclosed sections that share a common power bus. Each section houses a combination starter, composed of a motor starter, fuses or a circuit breaker, and a power disconnect switch.

What is the difference between MCC and PCC panels?

The MCC stands for motor control center panels, while PCC stands for power control center. As a general rule, panels responsible for supplying or receiving high-tension (HT) power are designated as PCC, whereas panels that provide power to low-tension (LT) motors are known as MCC.
