Frequently Asked Questions
How many ports does a shuttle valve have?
Eaton shuttle valves have two inlet ports and a single outlet port, allowing flow direction in conjunction with the fluid pressure. The inlet port with higher pressure passes flow to the outlet port (middle orifice) while blocking the other inlet port.
What is the difference between a shuttle valve and a check valve?
Shuttle valves allow reverse flow, which means that the fluid from the outlet port can flow back through either of the inlet ports, while check valves are mainly used to prevent backflow.
What is the use of the Buna-N seal?
Eaton shuttle valves come equipped with Buna-N seals that offer excellent resistance to petroleum-based oils and fuels, silicone greases, hydraulic fluids and water.
