Hangers

Hangers are used to mount artwork, framed documents, bulletin boards, signs & clocks. Raptor Supplies offers these hangers from brands like Dixon, Cooper B-Line and ZSI.

Features

  • Clevis hangers are pipe hangers having a swivel yoke mounted at the top by an adjustable vertical rod. This yoke fastens to a pin holding a metal clevis to keep the pipe in place.
  • J-hangers use side mounting or hanging to support a single conduit.
  • Roller hangers / pipe rollers / pipe rolls are similar to clevis hangers, with the exception that the yoke fastens to a roller rod rather than a metal strap. The pipe is supported by and can move horizontally owing to the roller rod.
  • Pipe hangers (known as split rings) open or split in the middle and are clamped around the pipe. They permit pipework to be installed close to walls or ceilings.
  • These hangers are available in 2, 3 and 5-hole adjustable & 2-hole non-adjustable variants.

How do pipe hangers work?

They relieve pressure on pipes and prevent them from sagging, swinging or swaying. Thus, they can safeguard pipelines from rupturing and colliding with other objects.

How far apart should pipe hangers be placed?

The maximum horizontal hanger spacing for ABS and PVC pipes should be 4 feet. For pipes having sizes 1 inch or less and 2-3/4 inch or greater, the maximum horizontal hanger spacing for CPVC pipe or tubing should be 3 feet.

How do you measure a clevis?

  • Clevis pins are measured from the bottom of the head to the end of the pin.
  • The effective grip length should be calculated from the bottom of the head to the top of the hole.
