Helicoil free running inserts are suitable for repairing stripped-out threads and providing stronger threads in soft materials, such as aluminium, magnesium and fibre-reinforced plastics. These standard threads are simply screwed with an installation tool and feature a precision-formed, rhombic design that allows the inserts to be used from both ends. They are made of steel to offer high strength, wear resistance and reduced friction torque and their flexible design allows uniform load and stress distribution. Tangless inserts leave no loose tangs behind and prevent the accumulation of foreign object debris (FOD) that must not be present in critical applications. They also eliminate the need for tang breaking tools and retrieval and can be easily adjusted / removed after installation. Read Less
