When working with wood and soft materials go for 3 - 6 teeth in the workpiece. Whereas for harder materials and metals look for 6 - 24 teeth in the workpiece.
Re-sawing is the method of cutting a board into thinner pieces of similar length and width. Re-sawing permits users to produce broad panels from narrow boards, thin flexible pieces for bent laminations, thin sheets of veneer and turn logs into lumber.
With lesser spaces between the teeth, crosscut blades draw less material, providing a smoother cut. Crosscut blades are the first choice for finish carpentry and other applications that need precision and a seamless finish.
